Following a protracted decline that began in 2007, we expect global demand for laser refractive surgery to start improving in 2010 and to subsequently return to previous levels and growth rates. However, much of the growth in the coming years will be driven by increasing demand in rapidly emerging markets, while recovery will be slower in the US and in Europe.
